University of East London is a public university located in the London borough of Newham, based at three campuses in Stratford and Docklands, following the opening of University Square, Stratford, providing education to 17,000 students from 135 different countries. The problem:
We were tasked with achieving strong vibrant colours whilst using uncoated stock in order to lessen the university’s environmental impact.

Our solution:
Our recommendation was to switch to a 100% recycled grade, Cyclus Offset. We profiled the images to the optimum profile for the particular paper guide and the effect was outstanding. We achieved extraordinarily vibrant colours which isn’t the norm for products printed on uncoated paper, but our experience in this field means that comes as standard at Sure.
The result:
Advising the customer to switch to Cyclus Offset paper not only produced a great finished product, but by being 100% recycled, the environmental impact for the 16pp booklet was reduced by:
- 187 Kg of landfill
- 39 Kg CO² and greenhouse gasses
- 389 Km travel in an average car
- 4,781 litres of water
- 487 kWh of energy
- 304 Kg of wood
